UPDATE: More Testimony From Investigator In Marcum Murder Trial

Christina Marcum's defense attorney continued to cross-examine the lead detective of the murder case Monday.
Christina Marcum's defense attorney continued to cross-examine investigators Monday in the high-profile murder trial.

Lead Detective Brian Reeder returned to the stand.

The defense attorney brought up an alleged fake ID scam involving Jason Singleton and his brother Tyler.

Detective Reeder said after the murder, a witness told him Tyler Singleton would want to kill Angela Frazier-Singleton since she knew so much about the alleged scam.

Shortly after Frazier-Singleton told the police about the alleged scam, they said she was murdered.

The defense attorney implied Detective Reeder was too focused on finding evidence Christina Marcum was the killer instead of looking into Tyler Singleton's possible role.

The detective admitted he was a long-time acquaintance of Tyler Singleton, but denied treating him differently than any other person involved in the case.

Detective Reeder said in court, "I wouldn't say I targeted Christina Marcum. I was trying to find out the truth on what happened to Angela Frazier-Singleton. If the facts lead to that than that's where the lead to."

The detective later said the evidence about Tyler Singleton was given to the grand jury.

The trial will continue in Madison County Tuesday morning.
