According to the Lexington Police Department, a 7-year-old boy had just gotten off a school bus shortly before 3 this afternoon when he was hit by an oncoming car on Woodhill Drive.

The driver of the school bus had reportedly stopped and had the stop sign out, signaling that children were exiting.

Police said the driver of the Honda that hit boy was 16 years old.

The child was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries to the lower part of his body.

Police are still determining what caused the accident and have not cited the teenage driver at this time.
