Blasting in downtown Lexington starts on Monday.

It will take place at the CentrePointe construction site.

There will also be one, daily blast around 10:00 a.m.

During that time, traffic will be stopped around the CentrePointe block. Officers said the area will be closed down for up to 10 minutes.

The blasts will be done for five or six days a week.

Project managers said they would be put on hold during the Boys' Sweet 16 Basketball Tournament, March 19th through March 23rd at Rupp Arena.
