Central Kentucky HS Cheerleaders Face Off in Lexington

A dozen high school cheerleading teams and hundreds of fans packed Dunbar High School in Lexington Sunday morning.
A dozen high school cheerleading teams and hundreds of fans packed Dunbar High School in Lexington Sunday morning.

Its the 11th Region Competition is made up of teams throughout Central Kentucky.

And a lot goes into it- the athletes train for several months to get to the event.

Franklin County High School Cheerleader Kerra Jones says, "It takes a lot of practice, four times a week for 3 hours. And it takes a lot of dedication and determination."

Ashley Rice cheers for Scott County High School and adds, "It's very competitive and it's a chance to get out there and show your talent and show what you've worked really hard for."

Madison Central High School took the win in the small division.

Traditional went to Model High School. Lexington Catholic took home Small Coed.

Medium went To Henry Clay.

Large goes to Dunbar and Super Large went to Woodford County High School.
