CenterPointe Project Could Begin in Days

Developer Dudley Webb says construction on the CentrePointe Project could begin in as little as ten days.
Work on downtown Lexington's CentrePointe Project could begin in as little as ten days, according to developer Dudley Webb.

Before that happens, though, the city has to okay an agreement that requires developers to put up more than four million dollars, in case parts of the project aren't finished and the sity has to restore the site.

The Urban County Council will vote on that agreement tonight.

CentrePointe is supposed to include a hotel, apartment building, and office building.

Mayor Jim Gray says an agreement would allow the project to move forward, and bring jobs to Lexington.
