Cats 'Tweak' Their Way To 85-67 Win Over LSU

Kentucky got its swagger back with a convincing win over LSU in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament in Atlanta Friday night.
Kentucky head basketball coach John Calipari's mystery tweak to his team leading up to the SEC Tournament in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta seemed to work Friday night as the Wildcats beat LSU 85-67 in the quarterfinals.

Kentucky had some of its swagger back against a team they split with during the regular season.

After a sluggish start, the Wildcats led 42-32 at the half.

The Kentucky lead was down to just 3-points with 12:00 to go when the Wildcats turned it on and never looked back.

Kentucky's James Young led all scorers with 21-points to go along with 6-rebounds, 4-assists and 2-steals.

Young was one of four Wildcats who scored in double figures.

Kentucky's Julius Randle turned-in his 19th double-double of the season by finishing with 17-points and 16-rebounds.

The Wildcats Aaron Harrison finished with 14-points.  His twin brother, Andrew, had 11-points.

Kentucky's Willie Cauley-Stein had a terrific game off the bench with 8-points, 6-rebounds and 6-blocks.

Kentucky won the rebounding battle 48-32 against the strong, physical Tigers.

The Wildcats also took care of the ball, turning it over only 9-times.

Kentucky continued to struggle from the free throw line.  The Wildcats had 41-attempts, but hit only 63-percent from the line.

Kentucky improved to 23-9 overall.

The Wildcats advanced to Saturday's semi-finals.
