Catholic Action Center Needs Coats & Blankets

The Catholic Action Center is hoping that everyone in Lexington and the surrounding areas will dig into their closets, as well as their hearts, to help cloth the growing homeless population.
With over 1,500 homeless residents in Lexington, it's hard to keep all those people warm and properly clothed in sub-freezing temperatures.

The Catholic Action Center is hoping that everyone in Lexington and the surrounding areas will dig into their closets, as well as their hearts, to help cloth the growing homeless population.

Ginny Ramsey, co-director of the Catholic Action Center, said they desperately need coats and blankets.

"Coats and blankets are our number one [need]. Hats, gloves, long underwear, anything that can keep people warm would be appreciated."

Ramsey said they rely solely on the goodness of people in the community to provide for those in need, and wants everyone to do their part to provide relief from the extreme cold.

"Folks are suffering," she explained. "This is a very critical time."

Clothing donations can be made to the Catholic Action Center between 10 am and 2 pm at 614 East Seventh Street in Lexington.
