Nearly a week after the Knox-Whitley Animal Shelter burns down, a cat has been found alive.

On Thursday Freckles the cat was found alive under the burnt rubble of what was left of the shelter.

The Lexington Humane Society says that "Freckles" is an adult female... her whiskers are singed and she inhaled a lot of smoke in the fire, but is now being taken care.

She is not available for adoption at this time, but will be soon.
