A car caught on fire this afternoon in Lexington, while being driven on Tates Creek Road.

The Lexington Fire Department said they didn’t know what caused the car to ignite.

The driver parked and got out of the car at Thorton’s Gas Station.

Part of the traffic on Tates Creek and Redding Road was blocked as fire fighters and police put out the fire.

A Lexington Fire Fighter said nothing else caught on fire and no one else was injured.
