Burnside Seventh-Grader Chosen As Google Logo Design Finalist

Google announced 50 state winners in its sixth annual Doodle 4 Google competition.
Google announced 50 state winners in its sixth annual Doodle 4 Google competition.

Representing the Bluegrass State is Savannah Lyle, a seventh-grader from Southern Middle School in Burnside.

Her artwork was chosen from more than 130,000 students who redesigned the Google logo inspired by the theme "My Best Day Ever..."

All fifty winning designs will be on display at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

You can vote here for your favorite doodle from those winners in order to select five national finalists.

Voting will be open until May 10.

Google will announce the five national finalists along with the national winner at an awards ceremony at its New York Office.


The winning student's doodle will be displayed on the Google homepage on May 23rd and he or she will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 for his or her school.
