A 22-year-old Burnside man is in custody after the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office said he sexually abused his 7-year-old niece.

Deputies said they received a complaint on Wednesday that David Brandon Murphy had made sexual contact with the girl at his home on Incline Road.

Detectives later discovered the child was watching TV with Murphy in his bedroom, when they said he began groping her and then had oral sex with her.

Murphy was arrested and charged with sodomy and sexual abuse.

He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

His niece was not injured.
