State Police arrested two Boyle County men after a standoff this afternoon in Junction City.

KSP said Shirley Coffman, 47, and James Wesley Coffman, 49, were at their home on KY Highway 37 this morning, when a Boyle County Adult Protective Services worker went to their house to check the welfare of the Coffman’s.

According to police, the worker called the Boyle County Sheriff’s Department when the two residents were uncooperative.

Deputies said when they arrived at the house, one of the Coffmans showed a firearm, refused to follow commands and went back in the house.

Police said they arrived on the scene with the Special Response Team around noon. After about three hours of the brothers not following instructions to leave the residence, KSP deployed non-lethal gas rounds into the home.

The Coffmans ran out of the house and were taken into custody. Police said that one of them still did not cooperate with officials and had to be tased.
