A one-year-old boy has died in a fire in a northern Kentucky home.

Gallatin County Sheriff Josh Neale told The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/1fwwXds) that the 23-month-old child died in the blaze, which was reported Tuesday afternoon.

Neale says the boy's mother was able to climb out of a window with a 3-year-old child, but was not able to get back in and reach her youngest. The child's father was at a neighbor's home at the time of the blaze.

No names were immediately released. An investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
