A boil water advisory is in effect in Owsley County.

The cold temperatures have been freezing intake pumps.

Crews have been working around the clock to get the pumps back up and running.

Meanwhile, a number of tanks have been depleted.

The areas affected are as follows:

Hwy 11 North Tank, effecting Pebworth to Lee Co. Fox Hunters Knob.

Elk Lick Tank effecting Vincent, Bowling Town, Marcum Ridge, and Water Street.

HWY 11 South (Betty Boman) effecting Levi Areas, Scoville Area.

Fish Trap Hill Tank effecting the areas of Cow Creek, Indian Creek, Wolf Creek, Bear Run and Split Poplar areas.

If you have experienced a water outage and your water service comes back on you can automatically assume that you are on advisory.

Boil water at a "rolling boil" for 3 minutes for drinking and food preparation.

Many of the areas listed above will see service being restored to as many customers as possible by morning.
