A boil water advisory was issued Tuesday, January 7, 2014, for an estimated 2,000 Kentucky American Water customers in Owenton and nearby areas.

The precautionary boil water advisory was the result of a water main break on Main Street near Blanton Street in Owenton.

Affected customers should boil all water to be used for cooking and drinking for at least three minutes until further notice.
