Due to a transmission main repair, the entire City of Richmond, along with the Kirksville and Madison Utilities water districts are under a boil water advisory.

Customers should boil any water to be used for cooking or drinking for at least three minutes until further notice.

Water officials said the advisory is expected to be lifted sometime Saturday afternoon.

The advisory does not affect customers in southern Madison County and Berea, according to water officials.
