“Body Maps” Show Transplant Process

Eight transplant patients from UK HealthCare creates canvases of their bodies that describe what their bodies went through during the transplant process.

Nearly 116,000 people are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant according to Donate Life Kentucky. Around 900 of those people waiting are in Kentucky.

Eight transplant patients from UK HealthCare creates canvases of their bodies that describe what their bodies went through during the transplant process.

The canvases are called “Body Maps.” Organizers said they show the unique journey each person goes through.

“Body Maps” will be on display at the Lexington Gallery Hop this Friday, September 20. They will be in the Lexington Public Library from 5 – 8 p.m.
