Bodies and minds got a workout Sunday at the Nutter Field House at UK. It's 'Healthy Kids Day,' as YMCAs nationwide hosted activities to improve children's health and well-being. Summer is almost here and the YMCA doesn't want children to slow down, physically, or mentally. "We don't need children just to come out and move around. There's also chess. There's literacy activities. They can just find a spot on a blanket and read a book together. We just want them to come out, spend time together, get ready for summer, and to know that summer is the time when you get out there, be physically active, but also keep your mind engaged be learning all summer long," explains Kelly Easton of the YMCA of Central Kentucky. Almost 2,000 YMCAs across america took part.
