The 52nd Annual Lexington Lions Club Bluegrass Fair began Thursday evening.

The Lexington Lions Club puts it on every year to raise money for different local causes.

Luckily, this week, the rain doesn't seem to be holding anything back.

"I know everyone who had a rough time on the 4th of July would like to come out here and enjoy the sunshine," said Ron Mossotti, chairman for the fair.

Mossotti said the organization hopes to make $200,000 from admissions this year--money they'll use to donate to local organizations.

But it's not the only reason to go to the fair--prizes, vendors, food, and, of course, the rides.

"We have the bigger equipment here...we have the big state fair type rides. This isn't one of the smaller county fairs," said Charles Panacek, President of Bell City Amusements--the company that owns the rides, "This is the second-biggest fair in Kentucky."
