Blind Golfers Come to Lexington

More than a dozen blind golfers compete at the Golf Course of the Bluegrass on Sunday.
More than a dozen blind golfers from as far away as Canada are in central Kentucky this weekend for second annual United States Blind Golf Association Regional Tournament.

The golfers are separated into three divisions based on their level of blindness ranging from 'totally blind' to some usable 'vision.'

Each golfer is accompanied by a coach who lines up the player and club and describes to the player what the field looks like in front of them.

Many of the golfers shoot scores into the mid 80's to low 100's.

The USBGA will also hold a golf clinic for local blind children to learn the game, on Tuesday, September 18th at the Man O' War Golf and Learning Center. The clinic will run from 10am to 2pm.
