There were long lines of cars on Mero Street in Frankfort Tuesday night for a free flu shot drive-thru clinic.

It was called 'Three For Free.'

Residents 18 and older were asked to donate three, non-perishable food items to receive a free vaccine.

The food donations will go to the Emergency Food Pantry of Franklin County.

Paula Alexander is with the Franklin County Health Department.

She says, "It allows people to save a little money and get protection from the flu. And flu's serious. it is not just the flu. Flu can be deadly, so we want to add that protection to our community."

The Health Department says it's been nationally recognized for the program since it raises food for the hungry.
