Governor Beshear signed that redistricting bill into law today, citing the approaching filing deadline the governor did say the maneuver to re-district Lexington senator Kathy Stein out of office "goes beyond partisanship." The next two years Stein's downtown Lexington district will be represented by a senator who lives 200 miles away. in the governor's words, "it reflects a personal vindictiveness that should have no place in this process." Beshear says a "non-partisan, citizen-based group" should be created to participate in redistricting.
