An amendment to allow casino gambling Kentucky isn't likely to pass this year.

That's from Governor Steve Beshear.

He spoke to reporters Tuesday.

Beshear says that the horse racing industry is divided about how to handle the issue.

And he says since they are divided, an amendment is unlikely to pass.

Governor Beshear says Kentucky is losing hundreds of millions of dollars to other states because Kentucky doesn't allow casinos.
