Beginning Monday, August 20, the top three floors of the annex garage next to the Fayette County Clerk's Office downtown will be closed for renovation.
It's a $3 million project.
The parking authority said despite the rumors, the garage does not have any 'major' structural problems.
"We're very concerned to get it repaired as quickly as possible, even if it's just a small hunk of concrete putting a dent in someone's hood, it's just something we wouldn't want to deal with. So, we want to get the repairs done as quickly as possible," said Gary Means of the Fayette County Parking Authority.
This November, the entire garage will be closed for more work.
