Sunshine will only be filtered by a few thin, high cirrus clouds this afternoon, and highs will climb to near 66 in the Bluegrass with 70s to the south and southwest. Tonight will be cool with lows around 48 under partly cloudy skies, and a stray sprinkle or two may occur to the south and west. Friday will be warmer with highs near 77, and while the day will begin very pleasant, scattered, strong to severe thunderstorms will return to the Bluegrass during the late afternoon and evening. Severe weather is possible across central and northern Kentucky. The cold front sparking the late-Friday storms will exit to the east on Saturday, and some leftover showers may linger into the early part of the weekend. After only a temporary break, another round of showers and thunderstorms will be possible late Sunday and Monday as temperatures soar through the 70s and to near 80 at the start of the workweek.
