An Internet report claims Cincinnati head coach Butch Jones is high on Kentucky's list of candidates to become the Cats' next football coach.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The website, FootballScoop.com, reports a source close to the program as saying Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart has considerable interest in Cincinnati head coach Butch Jones as UK's next football coach.

Jones was the Big East coach of the year in 2011 after leading the Bearcats to a  10-3 record and the conference title.

This season, Cincinnati is 7-2, which includes a 34-31 overtime loss to Louisville.

Jones is in his third season at Cincinnati following three seasons as head man at Central Michigan, where he led the Chippewas to three consecutive bowl appearances.
