      LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky's 54-game winning streak at Rupp Arena came to an end on Saturday when the No. 8 wildcats were upset by Baylor 64-55.
      Pierre Jackson scored 17 points and Isaiah Austin and A.J. Walton each added 11 for the Bears (5-2). Brady Heslip and Cory Jefferson each added 10 points and Baylor beat the Wildcats for the first time in eight tries.
      Baylor shot just 41 percent for the game but held Kentucky (4-3) to 21-of-71 from the floor.
      Archie Goodwin scored 17 points for Kentucky before fouling out with 1:44 remaining in the game. Alex Poythress added 13 and Nerlens Noel eight for the Wildcats.
      After trailing for the first 15 minutes Baylor took its first lead at 20-19 on Jackson's 3-pointer and stayed close before closing the half with a 12-2 run for a 34-29 lead. The Bears kept the Wildcats at bay with a zone defense that forced Kentucky into 16 turnovers.

Team Records and Series Notes

·        Kentucky is 4-3 on the season and Baylor is 5-2.

·        Kentucky leads the series 7-1, including 4-1 in Lexington.

o       UK is now 59-10 all-time against teams from the current alignment of the Big 12 Conference.

·        UK continues its five-game homestand Tuesday against Samford.  The game will be at 7 p.m. and will be televised on Fox Sports South.

First-Half Facts

·        Kentucky started with the lineup of Archie Goodwin, Julius Mays, Alex Poythress, Kyle Wiltjer and Nerlens Noel for the sixth-consecutive game.

·        Kentucky jumped out to an eight-point lead at 15-7 and 17-9.

·        The Bears took the lead for good, 27-26, on a 3-pointer by Brady Heslip with 2:26 on the clock.

·        Over the last 10 minutes of the half, Baylor outscored the Wildcats 25-12 and took a 34-29 advantage into halftime.  

Second-Half Story

·        Early in the second half, Baylor stretched the lead to 10 at 43-33, its largest lead of the game.

·        Baylorwas ahead 49-40 when Kentucky went on a 6-0 run to cut it to 49-46 but that was as close as the Wildcats got.

·        Kentucky got within four points three times down the stretch, the last being 56-52 at the 5:35 mark.

Team Notes

·        Kentucky won the rebounding battle 48-37. 

o       Included were a season-high 21 offensive rebounds, most for the Wildcats since getting 24 against West Virginia on March 27, 2010.  However, UK converted today’s offensive rebounds to only eight second-chance points.

·        Kentucky shot 29.6 percent from the field, lowest under Coach John Calipari.  The previous low was 29.8 percent in last season’s win over Louisville.

·        The Wildcats ended their home winning streak at 55 games, which was the longest active streak in the nation. The run included the 2009 NIT game at Memorial Coliseum and the last 54 games at Rupp Arena.

·        UK had been 54-0 under Coach John Calipari at Rupp Arena, the longest win streak in venue history.

Individual Notes

·        Archie Goodwin had 17 points, six rebounds and five assists.

o       Surpassed the 100-point mark only seven games into his collegiate career

o       Hasfour or more assists in five games this season, including four straight

o       Is thefirst Wildcat to foul out of a game this season.

·        Alex Poythress had 13 points and six rebounds.

o       Surpassed the 100-point mark only seven games into his collegiate career

·        Nerlens Noel had eight points and a career-high 16 rebounds, most boards by a Wildcat this season

o       Noel, who leads the team in steals, had six thefts today – most by a Wildcat this season and tying John Wall for the most by a UK player under Coach Calipari.

·        Willie Cauley-Stein had six points and seven rebounds in 13 minutes of action

·        Ryan Harrow played a season-high 18 minutes.  His two assists give him 100 for his collegiate career, including his year at North Carolina State.
