The basketball Cats are once again atop college basketball Solid Blue fans.

The annual USA Today poll released this morning has the Cats as the number one team in the land.

Michigan State, Louisville, Duke and Kansas round out the top five.  Florida is in at the seven spot and Tennessee the only other SEC team in the top 25 at number 21.

UK also got some individual player recognition today as freshman forward Julius Randle was tabbed as a first-team all-american.

Willie Cauley-Stein was a second team member selection.

The Cats of course tip off the season with Big Blue Madness on Friday, October 18th at Rupp Arena.
