It's not every day you see a vigil for two pit bulls.

But this isn't your average case.

Police in Bardstown say they went into a home Monday and found nine mistreated dogs, and a dead pit bull.

Another had to be put down later.

Investigators say they arrested John C. Lewis at the home.

According to police, he admits the dogs are his but denied having the dogs fight each other.

People held a vigil Thursday night in Bardstown to raise awareness about animal abuse.

The group also wanted to make people aware that not all pitbulls are 'fighters.'
