Attempted Robbery Of Motel Manager On Thanksgiving Morning

Lexington Police said three masked men wearing gloves and carrying guns tried to rob the 'Bluegrass Extended Stay.'
The night manager at the 'Bluegrass Extended Stay' is got his Thanksgiving off to bad start.

The hotel's night manager said at about 4:15 Thursday morning, three armed suspects came into the hotel's office and tried to steal the cash drawer.

According to the 'Bluegrass Extended Stay' night manager, issues began just after midnight on Thursday, when he had to kick a guest out of the hotel. He said hotel policy requires deposits on reservations and the man refused to pay the deposit.

The manager said the man refused to leave and began threatening the manager, which promoted a call to police to remove the man.

Lexington Police removed the man from the hotel's property, according to the night manager.

The night manager said at about 4:15 a.m the man returned, this time with two of his friends.

He said the three suspects were all armed with guns, wearing gloves, their faces covered and their hoods up.

The manager said when he saw the suspect enter, he locked himself in a back office. He said the suspects tried to break down that door, but were unsuccessful.

He said another suspect also tried to steal the cash drawer, but couldn't. According to the manager, that's because the drawer is bolted to the countertop.

Lexington Police are investigating.
