On Tuesday morning the Kentucky State Police responded to a call about an intoxicated person at the I-64 rest area in Rowan County.

Troopers say Gregory Noll attempted to rob the attendant by pointing a gun at him and demanding the attendant give him the keys to his vehicle.

Noll fired a shot during the attempted robber, but did not injure anyone.

Noll was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center and charged him with Robbery first degree, wanton endangerment first degree, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
