Arrests Made in Car Arson At Commonwealth Stadium

UK Police said they arrested two teenagers Thursday after a car fire arson prompted a campus-wide crime bulletin.

UK Police said Cullen Gallaher, 18, and Ian Baughman, 19, were both charged with second degree arson, a felony.

Police said charges were pending for a third suspect who was not identified.

Investigators said all three suspects are UK students.

Around 8:50 Wednesday night, UK Police said an empty cardboard beer box was put under the bumper of a student’s car that was parked in the Commonwealth Stadium parking lot.

Police said fire crews quickly put out the flames and there was only minimal damage to the car.

They said no one was hurt.

Still no word on why the car was set on fire.

UK police said there are about 400 cameras around the campus that were helpful in making the arrests.

Police said those same cameras were also helpful in catching an armed robber near campus last month.
