Arrest Made In Woodford Co. Animal Abuse Case

Police arrested Cheryll Jeffers,59, Friday on charges of disposal of a carcass, and animal cruelty after deputies said they found 16 dead horses as well as dogs, cats, chickens, and a donkey on a farm she was renting last week.
Police arrested and charged the woman in charge of a Woodford County farm where deputies said they found 16 dead horses, as well as cats, chickens, and a donkey last week.

Woodford County Animal Control charged Cheryll Jeffers, 59, Friday on charges of disposal of a carcass, and animal cruelty. Police said she bonded out of jail.

Officials said Jeffers blamed viruses for some of the animal's deaths. One of the horses was taken to University of Kentucky's Veterinary Diagnostic Lab for testing.
