The Kentucky House on Thursday passed a bill, sponsored by Speaker Greg Stumbo, to fight Kentucky's pill problem.
The bill regulates pain management facilities. It also requires doctors -- who prescribe Schedule II and Schedule III drugs -- to check the state's KASPER prescription drug monitoring system before writing the prescriptions.
Also today, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed a similar bill. Speaker Stumbo says he thinks the House and Senate will reach an agreement on the legislation.
