A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for eastern Kentucky until 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Even though central Kentucky is not under the severe thunderstorm watch, strong storms will be possible across the entire area. The storms are scattered but are capable of producing deadly lightning, damaging winds, and hail. The storms will begin to weaken Wednesday night as they continue to push northeast.

We will start Thursday with temperatures near 60° and mostly cloudy skies.

A few more scattered rain showers, and possibly a couple storms, will again be possible during the day Thursday. Afternoon highs will be in the low 70s. Widespread severe weather is not expected.

Cooler and drier air will build in for Friday! With the exception of a few showers in eastern Kentucky, the day will be dry with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will only climb into the mid 60s.
