Republican challenger Andy Barr of Lexington raised $392,244 for the second quarter of 2012 for his Sixth District Congressional campaign, according to a release from the Barr campaign.

The release said the campaign will report more than $1 million raised for the cycle and $758,102 cash on hand as of June 30, 2012.

The campaign said the cash on hand figure was more than double what it was at this time in 2010.

Barr lost to Democratic incumbent Ben Chandler by only 647-votes two years ago.

The two will face off again in the fall, which is expected to draw national scrutiny.
