Anderson County Sheriff: Student Arrested For Making "Hit List"

A student at Anderson County Middle School was arrested Wednesday after police say he had a "hit list."
A student at Anderson County Middle School was arrested Wednesday after police say he had a "hit list."

According to the sheriff's department, school officials figured out who made the list Tuesday night during an emergency meeting which was called after someone showed them the list.

The student they named was taken into custody as he got off the bus to go into school Wednesday morning.

The principal at the school says she called the parents of every student on the list.

He's charged with 32 counts of terroristic threatening.

His name hasn't been released.

The superintendent released a statement saying: "The first component of the mission of Anderson County Schools is to ensure students are safe. Our district staff has worked closely with local law enforcement through this process to ensure the safety of all our students and staff in this unfortunate incident. We are committed to our mission and will continue to work closely with law enforcement to make sure safety of our students remains our number one priority."
