A bill encouraging schools across Kentucky to have emergency medications on hand to treat allergic reactions has passed the House and the Senate, and is now on the governor's desk for approval or veto.

The bill would encourage epinephrine auto-injectors, also known as epi-pens, be in every school.

The bill originally mandated that schools carry the epi-pens, but legislators changed it to say 'encouraged.'
