Robby Albarado, the third winningest jockey in Churchill Downs history, has appealed the suspension of his racing license to the state Racing Commission.

Nearly 2 weeks ago he was arrested on a domestic violence charge.

It cost him his mount in the Kentucky Oaks.

Court records show it was his second domestic violence-related arrest in 2 years.

After his first arrest, Albarado was allowed to keep his license as long as he didn't get into any more trouble.

After this most recent arrest, his license was suspended.

The Racing Commission could rule on his appeal as early as Wednesday night.
