Accused Kidnapper Pleads Not Guilty

Carl Miller, accused of attempting to kidnap a 15-year-old Laurel County girl, pled not guilty to the charges in court Monday morning.
A Laurel County man pled not guilty to attempting to kidnap a teenage girl.

Carl Miller, 41, is accused of following a 15-year-old girl as she walked home from a friend's house Friday night. The girl told police that once she got inside her home, Miller came and knocked on the door and asked to use a car jack. The girl said she said no, and said Miller then offered her drugs, and made sexual comments toward her. The teen said Miller grabbed her arm, and tried to pull her away with him. Police said she was able to escape and run to a neighbor's home for help.

Police said Miller was arrested later, and accused of public intoxication. The sheriff's office later decided Miller was the same man wanted for the earlier attempted abduction. Records show he served ten years in prison for robbery and murder.
