The NBA tips off its lockout-shortened season Christmas Day, and ABC 36 has a couple of the marquee matchups. Miami meets the Mavericks in Dallas in a rematch of last season’s NBA Finals at 2:30 PM.

That’s followed by the Bulls and Lakers from Tinseltown at 5 PM. When LeBron James and Chris Bosh joined Dwayne Wade in South Beach, it was a foregone conclusion the Heat would win the title. Miami made the finals, but Dirk Nowitzki and Dallas beat the Heat in six games to win its first NBA championship.

The two teams left standing to end last season, square off to tip off this season. Then later in Los Angeles, Kobe Bryant and the “Lake Show” host reigning NBA MVP Derek Rose and the Bulls.
