A Wind Advisory is in effect across central and northern Kentucky, and a Lake Wind Advisory is in effect across eastern Kentucky today. A Flood Advisory continues along the Kentucky River in Estill County.
The final, intense, wind-driven showers tied to this morning's squall line are exiting eastern Kentucky, but it will remain windy today on the heels of the threatening weather. Today will be mostly cloudy and breezy with occasional gusts over 40 mph. A few lighter rain showers will briefly cross some areas this afternoon, but they will not last long. Temperatures will remain in the lower to middle 50s through midday, then a cold front will deliver colder air in the afternoon and evening. Skies will be partly cloudy tonight and through the day tomorrow, and highs will peak in the middle 40s. The next storm system will produce rain showers on Wednesday evening, then Thursday will be a washout with soaking rain. The final showers with that low pressure system will exit to the east early on Friday. The weekend will be a bit colder and there may be a few snow flurries, but no accumulations are expected.
