It was a blessed day for pets in Lexington.

Dozens of animals and their people turned out Sunday for the 'Blessing of the Pets.'

Dogs, cats, goats and even a snake took part in the ceremony at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard.

Pet owners sang hymns and offered prayers for their animals before receiving a blessing by a priest.
