Hundreds of friends and family, even strangers said goodbye to a Marine who police said was shot and killed in Lexington.

Lance Corporal Jonathan Price, 26, was laid to rest Wednesday in Campbellsville.

“It’s a shame that a man went overseas for our country, fought in Desert Storm, then come back and have a tragic death like this,” said Phil Davis, who didn’t know Price but came to pay respects at the request of his family as part of the Patriot Guard.

According to Lexington Police, Price was shot in the back early Saturday morning outside of Austin City Saloon during a robbery.

His wife, Megan Price, was with him and was shot in the leg.

The couple was reportedly out celebrating Megan's birthday.

“Who would have ever thought that it would be in the streets of Lexington that something like that would happen so it's been a tragic day,” said Alvin Hardy, pastor of the Good Hope Baptist Church.

So far there are no arrests in the shooting death.
