A Chilly & Windy Afternoon, Light Sat. AM Mix

A cold wind from the west, combined with plenty of thick clouds, is keeping us chilly. Look for a light mix on Saturday morning.
Cold winds and stubborn clouds are keeping temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s this afternoon.  The final sprinkles and flurries are quickly exiting the mountains of far eastern Kentucky as drier but chilly air slides across central and eastern Kentucky.  Only a limited amount of clearing will occur this evening.  Late tonight, thicker clouds will return as a weak disturbance arrives from the west.  A round of light rain, snow and sleet showers will quickly cross central and eastern Kentucky on Saturday morning into midday, but impacts should be very, very limited as moisture will be scarce.  An even weaker disturbance will cross the Ohio Valley on Sunday, producing a few snow flurries in northern Kentucky while highs only peak in the upper 30s.  High pressure will provide chilly but bright weather on Monday.  Milder air will return at the middle of next week as rain returns from Tuesday evening through Wednesday and into Thursday.
