7th Annual Lexington Neighborhoods Back To School Rallies

18 Lexington neighborhoods took part in another year of rallies to get students ready to head back to school.
A program with a large reach continued in Fayette County as thousands of students get ready to head back to the classroom in just a few weeks.

Nearly 8,000 elementary, middle and high school students in the FCPS system are provided a backpack and school supplies.
It's a collaboration of the YMCA of Central Kentucky, KU and Passport Health.

18 Lexington neighborhoods are involved in the 7th annual Lexington Neighborhood Back to School rallies.

"It goes without saying that there are these type of activities going on all across the city. and these back to school rallies really bring together neighborhoods, they bring together families, they bring together the teachers and the students who are going to have a great school year this year," said councilman Chris Ford.

The goal is to prep students for school and unify the neighborhoods involved.
