The 2014 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event kicked off Thursday at the Kentucky Horse Park and included 62 horses and riders from around the world.
Riders from the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, and Brazil are all competing for top prizes to be handed out on Sunday.
Among the prizes will be a new Rolex watch and a grand prize handout of $80,000.
Dressage began Thursday and will resume Friday from 10am until 4pm. Saturday will feature the cross-country phase, with the show jumping phase set for Sunday.
For the first time ever, a team challenge will also be included. The Dubarry of Ireland Nations Team Challenge will award $20,000 in prize money, while also helping national teams gear up for this summer's competition at the World Equestrian Games.
The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event is a selection trial for this year's FEI World Equestrian Games.
