5 People Injured In Wreck During Heavy Rain Along I-75

Five people were injured when the driver of an SUV lost control in heavy rain along Interstate 75 and crashed into a concrete median barrier in Laurel County, according to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said the single vehicle accident happened just before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, nine miles north of London.

The Sheriff's Office said the people in the SUV included the driver, Joyce Annaie, 71, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passenger Katheryn Brown, 31, of Aurora, Illinois and her three children ages 2, 6 and 7.

The London/Laurel County Fire Department assisted at the accident scene.
