A big crowd, estimated at 15,000, turned out Sunday at the Kentucky Horse Park for the 45th running of the High Hope Steeplechase.

ABC 36 was proud to be one of the sponsors of the annual event that benefits charities.

This year's charities included Central Kentucky Riding for Hope, Secretariat Center, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital and the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.

The event is run by volunteers and has raised more than $1 million for area charities over the years.

There was a silent auction, an Arts and Crafts Fair, terrier races, pony rides for the children along with inflatables, face painting, stickhorse races and crafts.

There was world-class hunt racing on a very warm, but beautiful day in the heart of horse country.
