After years of brownouts and budget fights, the Lexington Fire Department will now have 32 new firefighters out on the streets.
After years of brownouts and budget fights, the Lexington Fire Department will now have 32 new firefighters out on the streets.

The department welcomed its new recruits Friday in a graduation ceremony.

The group underwent 19 rigorous weeks of training in multiple emergency disciplines. 

The new firefighters and EMT's were sworn in by Mayor Jim Gray at the ceremony.

They will begin serving the city on Monday.
